Has the prove-it-to-me craziness of mainstream medicine gone too far? I recently had people quizzing on exactly how Natural medicine was ‘measured’ and they were not happy with the response of people feel better – they needed a blood test to show differences.
My response is, does it matter ? A patient attends any professional because they want to improve quality of life – more energy, sleep better, less pain, better digestion, rash clears etc. and that is the ultimate measurement on how well we have done. As long as we have done no harm and got them feeling better, the job is a success. That applies to both Natural and drug based medicine (we actually have a very similar philosophy there). I think sometimes we lose sight of who really counts and that’s the patient, not the science, because all that matters is that you feel better.
